1952
Mr. WU Kao founded Tong Yang Industry.

1967
Reorganized to Tong Yang Industry Co., Ltd. and produced plastic parts for bicycles and motorcycles.

1973
Started to export motorcycle parts to South-east Asia including Indonesia and Vietnam and became the very first exporter among all other AM suppliers in Taiwan.

1976
Started to produce automotive plastic parts servicing aftermarket industry in Taiwan.

1978
Started to export automobile parts to nations in Middle East.

1980
- Plant moved to the current location in Annan District Tainan City and expanded the scale.
- Set up Taipei sales office to explore overseas market.

1981
Manufactured the first MIT bumper cover for Taiwan OE manufacturer (Ford).

1984
Worked with Japan Mitsubishi Belting Ltd. and introduced in RIM technology to produce PU bumpers.

1987
Implemented business management system and personnel training programs.

1988
Cooperated with Japan Shigeru Co., Ltd., to manufacture instrument panels.

1989
Set up R&D center, focusing on material, productivity and technologies improvement.

1993
- Received the Q1 Quality Award from Ford (Taiwan).
- Founder, Mr. Kao Wu, retired and his sons, Michael Wu and Raymond Wu, succeeded to be the Chairman of the Board and the General Manager respectively.

1994
- Tong Yang Group became a publicly traded company.
- Set up Chongqing Dajiang YuChyang Plastics Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Chong Qing Da Jiang Group, to enter into China’s OEM market.

1995
Set up Fuzhou Tong Yang Plastics Co., Ltd. and became an important parts supplier for South-East Auto.

1996
Joint Venture with Nippon Bee Chemical Co., Ltd. to set up Tung Yang Chemical Plastics Co., Ltd. to produce paints for plastic parts in Taiwan.

1998
- Set up TYGE (Europe) in Italy as a professional auto part manufacturer and a distribution center.
- Set up Guangzhou NB Co., Ltd, a joint venture with Japan Nippon Bee Chemical Co., Ltd.
- Taiwan Kai Yih became a publicly traded company.


2000
- Set up Changchun NP Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Japan Nippon Bee Chemical Co., Ltd.
- Set up Tianjin NP Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Japan Nippon Bee Chemical Co., Ltd.

2002
Set up Changchun Faway Tong Yang Plastic Co.,Ltd. , a joint venture with Changchun First Auto Group.

2003
Set up Harbin Hafei Tong Yang Plastics Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Hafei Motor Group.

2004
- Set up Chong Qing Da Jiang Group, a joint venture with Chong Qing Da Jiang Group.
- Set up Wuhan NP Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Japan Nippon Bee Chemical Co., Ltd.

2005
- Set up Daikyo Nishikawa Tong Yang Auto Parts (Nanjing) Co., Ltd.
- Set up Guangzhou Tong Yang Tatematsu Mold Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Japan’s Tatematsu Mold Works.

2006
- Set up R&D and Design Center.
- Daikyo Nishikawa Tong Yang started mass production for Mazda 2 components as the Tier 1 Supplier for Mazda.

2007
Set up Wuhan Xiang Xing Auto Parts Co., Ltd, a joint venture with IAC Group in USA

2008
Set up Nanjing Tong Yang Auto Parts Co., Ltd, to advance into the AM market in China.

2010
Tong Yang merged Taiwan Kai Yih.

2011
- Set up Changsha GACC Tong Yang Automobile Components Co., Ltd, a joint venture with GACC.
- Set up Changchun Faway Tong Yang Automobile Plastic Components Co., Ltd.’s Foshan Branch.
- Raymond Wu was appointed by the board to be the Vice Chairman of Tong Yang Group and Crispin Wu was appointed by the board as the CEO of Tong Yang Group.

2012
- Set up Xiangyang Tong Yang Auto Parts Co., Ltd. to specifically manufacture chromed parts. The plant started mass production in July 2014.
- Set up Foshan Tong Yang Auto Parts Co., Ltd. to manufacture instrument panels. The plant started mass production in August 2014.

2013
Set up “Technology R&D Center” to integrate the innovation of materials and technologies, as well as resources in China and Taiwan laboratories.

2014
AM Automated Storage & Retrieval System: 1 in Central Warehouse and 1 in Sheet Metal Factory. Installation was completed in October.

2015
- After strict verification process carried out by IAOB(International Automotive Oversight Bureau), Tong Yang Industrial Co., Ltd. successfully obtained the ISO/TS 16949 certificate and became the very first OEM supplier in Taiwan that passed the IAOB verification.
- Was graded as the Grade A Supplier accredited by Kuozui Automobile Cooperation Association in the 2015 Evaluation of Safety and Health Management System.
- Received the Outstanding Performance Award in the area of Design and Development from Yulon-Nissan supplier system in 2015.
- Received 2015 HONDA Accessory Development Award
- Received 2015 HONDA Best Partner Award

2016
- Set up an electroplating plant (trivalent chromium and satin nickel) for AM parts with annual capacity of 3.12 million pcs; it is the largest professional chroming factory in the world.
- Set up the 5th AM injection factory with annual capacity of 2.7 million pcs.
- Obtained the certification of AM auto parts production standard from Ping An Insurance in China in July. TYG bumper was the first one that acquired NSF certification.

2017
- The 2nd electroplating production line (trivalent chromium, satin nickel) for OEM business started in 2017 with annual capacity of 480,000 units.
- Expanded logistic center with another 15,000 ping land, on which 27 loading docks were equipped. The construction completed in mid 2017.
- Started the first water-base painting line for OEM business.


2018
- Added another coating facility to paint medium and small objects for OEM business.
- Changchun Faway Tong Yang’s Qingdao Branch started mass production in March 2018 with annual full capacity of 300,000 units.
- Changchun Faway Tong Yang’s Tianjin Branch started mass production in June 2018 with annual full capacity of 300,000 units.

2019
Taiwan’s R&D Center has moved to a new building, in which arranges as a whole the group’s R&D capabilities in three major areas- new materials, advanced technologies, and superior products, Tong Yang Goup will continue to grasp the global markets in automotive interior and exterior parts with our new technologies and engineering methods.

2020
Started the construction of logistic center III, with an initial planning area of 18,307 ping (equivalent to 60,519 sm2 of floor space).

2021
- Awarded by Tainan City for “Excellent Labor Relations and Harmonious institutions and Collective Agreements”.
- Tong Yang was selected one of the most outstanding Car Parts Manufacturers among the Asia’s Outstanding Companies by ASIAMONEY.
- Tong Yang passed the AEO certification by the Kaohsiung Customs, Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance.

2022
Carried out the 4rd phase construction project for Distribution Center III.

2023
- The Company held a board meeting on December 21, 2023. All attending directors unanimously elected Director Yeong-Maw Wu as the Chairman of Tong Yang Group and Tong Yang Industry, and Director Yung-Feng Wu as Honorary Chairman.
- The logistic center III was completed.
- Purchased 16,000 SM of land in Tainan Technology Industrial Park.


2024
- Planning for plant expansion to meet Tong Yang’s growth needs in the next 3-5 years. (Purchased 50,000 SM of land in Qigu Technology Industrial Park and leased 159,000 SM of land in Sinshih Industrial Park)
- Construction of Phase 5 of Distribution Center 1 commenced.


2025
Construction of the Tainan Technology Industrial plant and the Qigu Technology Industrial plant commenced.
